Stories from blind and partially sighted people, in their own words. We publish them because the detail of an ordinary day explains more than any statistic — not because anyone here needs to be called inspiring.

“I have spent years ringing ahead. Where is the door, is there a step, will the lift announce floors. This time it was all on the page before I booked. I turned up like everybody else turns up. That was the whole difference.”

“They were not unkind, they just did not know. After the session people stopped grabbing my arm and started offering it. Small thing. It changed every meeting after that.”
